Trash and Recycling

This service is provided by a contracted collection company, not by the RCA. The RCA currently has a contract with Dependable Disposal to secure a reduced group rate. This service is paid for by the Trash assessment portion of your annual fee. The collection company provides totes (refuse containers) to Radisson homeowners. Their trucks are equipped with an automated arm designed to work with the totes. Trash and recyclables are picked up on an assigned day each week. Totes should be put curbside no later than 6AM on your scheduled pickup day, but no sooner than the evening prior.  

Recyclables do NOT need to be separated before collection and should not be bagged before going into the recycling tote. Click here to review the current Onondaga County guidelines. Bulk items that cannot be bagged, including but not limited to, furniture, appliances, and construction debris, require special handling. Additional fees may apply, please call Dependable Disposal (or other waste handling company) to make arrangements.
 

Yard Waste Pickup  

Service begins April 3,2023.
The RCA provides curbside pick-up of brush, twigs and small yard waste generated by routine property maintenance or tree trimming done by homeowners. Yard Waste Pickup Service consists of several phases and schedules, changing with the season. Current dates are in the Reflections Newsletter. Residents can request use of a Brush Trailer for large jobs, though not for extremely heavy items; go to For Residents> Reservations.

Christmas Tree Pickup
Trees and boughs set curbside will be picked up. Decorations must be removed. No plastic.
Pickup Days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Fall Leaf Collection Service   (begins TBD, 2023)
At the tail end of the season, our crews focus on the many, many leaves that fall in Radisson. We use a variety of machines and methods, depending on the nature of the curbside materials. A leaf vac (vacuum), loader(s) and trailer may all be in use on a given day.

Leaf collection is estimated to begin in early October and continue until the snow gets too heavy. Loose leaf pick up will run on a continuous route, through the street order as listed below.  

Instructions for Leaf Pickup
Loose leaves can be raked to the road edge of your property (not into the road) in narrow piles, no more than three feet wide. RCA maintenance staff will move leaves into the road at time of pick up. Please do not rake leaves into the road in advance, as these unattended piles create a hazard.

Do not place debris into the leaf piles or bags (sticks, stones, pumpkins, flower pots, soil, etc). Material other than leaves will damage the equipment, slowing the pickup process.

Leaves may be placed in biodegradable (paper) yard bags. Note that bags may be picked up at a different time of day than loose leaves.

Loose Leaf Route Order
Crews will circulate to pick up loose leaves and bags as indicated by weather conditions and leaf accumulation.
