We have no paid staff.

November 2021 marked PCP C.A.R.E.’s 15th year to conduct the once-a-year monetary fundraising effort within our community. The residents of Palm Coast Plantation continue to demonstrate their generosity. In consideration of our mission, you will find listed below the organizations and individuals PCP C.A.R.E. and our residents will be assisting during 2022.

Family Life Center (FLC) – a local, not-for-profit, social service organization providing an emergency shelter, outreach program, essential support services for women and children who are victims of domestic/sexual violence, as well as outreach programs that focus on awareness of, and deterrents to, domestic/sexual violence. Throughout C.A.R.E.’s existence, we have supported the women and children at the center and offered assistance when local emergencies have arisen throughout the year. PCP residents have donated many pieces of clothing, household goods, personal hygiene items, etc., to the center. Additionally, for the past 12 summers, our residents have provided schools supplies and money for school uniforms for the children being served by the shelter.

Flagler County Senior Center – Many Flagler senior citizens receive weekly warm meals and participate in a variety of activities in a space the Senior Center rents from Church on the Rock in Bunnell. The attendees are also treated to monthly birthday celebrations, as well as holiday activities. CARE has elected to provide a financial donation to help defray some of these costs for the county which subsidizes the Flagler County Senior Center.

Flagler Free Clinic – The FCFC is a 501(c)(3) volunteer-based, non-profit organization which provides free medical care to low income or medically uninsured individuals in our community. CARE has provided a financial donation and will be holding a PCP item collection later this year to provide supplies for the Free Clinic.

Flagler Humane Society – The FHS is a local, not-for-profit organization that provides shelter and nourishment for lost and homeless animals and finds them life-long matches for forever homes. The Humane Society additionally provides multiple services to the entire Flagler community:  wellness and vaccination clinics, spaying and neutering, etc. CARE will host a speaker from the Humane Society at its Spring Semi-Annual Meeting, as well as a PCP collection of goods to help the center.

Old Kings Elementary -- Since 2020, the administrators, teachers, and entire staff have worked tirelessly to provide our PCP children with an exemplary education in very difficult times and circumstances due to the COVID 19 pandemic. The CARE Board has chosen to thank the OKES administration, educators, and staff with a surprise during Teacher Appreciation Week at the beginning of May.

The Sheltering Tree – A Cold Weather Program (part of Flagler County Family Assistance Program) provides shelter and food for homeless citizens on cold nights. A monetary donation was given.

WARM (Women Assisting Recovering Mothers) – WARM is a state-funded, multicultural program offering long-term residential treatment for women recovering from substance abuse who are pregnant, postpartum or parenting young children. The program welcomes children under the age of six and sets the families up in comfortable apartment units. Women spend their days in structured treatment, while the children attend on-site daycare. Through a broad range of therapeutic approaches, the clients become empowered and productive. PCP C.A.R.E. has provided monetary assistance; donations of toiletry goods, baby items, clothing for mothers and children; blankets. etc. Additionally, during the holiday seasons of 2016-2021, we have provided gifts for the women and children being served by WARM.

Whispering Meadows Ranch -- Whispering Meadows Ranch is a 100% volunteer-based, 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to enriching the lives of those with disabilities and special needs through our recreational, educational, and equine-assisted programs. CARE has supported this charity for several years. During 2021, we helped citizens of Flagler County assist the Ranch in its fight to continue its program in its current location, and ultimately support the Ranch’s move to western Flagler County. We will have a PCP collection of goods for Whispering Meadows Ranch in October and hope Kristina Aguirre will speak at CARE’s Fall Semi-Annual Meeting.

PCP C.A.R.E. continues to honor the mission that was developed 15 years ago. Therefore, we will provide continued assistance to Flagler County organizations/citizens in an attempt to bring aid and hope to those in need.
