Welcome to the Woods, one of Northeast Florida’s first gated communities. A planned unit development comprising 812 homes, we are located near the intersections of Atlantic Blvd. and Hodges Blvd.; the Woods is convenient to both the Beaches and Downtown areas. We are a friendly, family-oriented community that offers a number of facilities (please see associated links here, including 4.1 miles of nature walks and trails throughout the community.
The Woods has over 18 professionally maintained man made ponds offering incredible waterfront views (without water front prices). Several of the ponds feature lighted fountains that enhance their beauty, and residents utilize the seating areas while enjoying the natural settings.
The Woods Community center is the hub of our neighborhood. It features a clubhouse that is available for rental, with a maximum capacity of 96 people. The facility features a full service kitchen with stove, microwave, oven and a refrigerator Clubhouse. Residents have an notable advantage during elections: The Community Center serves as your voting precinct, and is staffed with trained volunteers.
Other amenities include:
A Junior Olympic pool: Open Spring to Fall with Lifeguards on duty during the summer season. The pool area is available for rental to host a pool party, and residents use the pool for many activities, including 4th of July parties and annual Margarita parties!
Eight clay tennis courts: These are lighted, and some of the best courts in Northeast Florida. The Woods has several tennis teams, and sponsors local tournaments with other communities.
Lighted Pickleball Courts: New in 2022 the two courts have proved to be a popular addition to the community.
Children’s playground with facilities for gatherings and birthday parties: Along with a modern, fun and beautiful multi age playground, there are also outdoor cooking grills and a covered picnic area for your enjoyment.

Two Lighted Soccer/ flag football fields for teams and individual practice.
Basketball courts: these courts are highly utilized for teams, pick-up games and individuals. The full and 8 foot courts are lighted and there is an unlighted half court as well.
Nature Trails: Paved paths through the community for jogging, biking and walking.
Public Schools – Alimacani Elementary School, Fletcher Middle School and Sandalwood High School.
